Corporate Payroll and Accounting Specialist

Description:POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is a function within the Accounting department that supports the Payroll, Accounting, and Tax groups.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll using ADP PayForce and eTime (shared responsibility with P&R Admin III)
  • Audit T&E expenses, both electronic and paper (shared responsibility with P&R Admin III)
  • Preparation and entry of assigned Tier I journal entries accurately and on time (US)
  • Preparation and analysis of Tier I monthly reconciliations of assigned liability accounts accurately and on time
  • Maintenance and filing of all department information
  • Record retention of all department documents in accordance with Fortive Retention Policy
  • Process department invoices and quarterly filings
  • Assist with all payroll activities as assigned
  • Assist with audit preparation work
  • Create or maintain existing SOPs as necessary for assigned functions
  • Perform duties assigned by the Payroll Supervisor in support of the Controller
  • Must maintain confidentiality of information

Qualifications

:
  • Experience with third party payroll preparation software is required
  • Relevant Associate's degree or high school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of relevant experience required
  • Experience in an accounting environment is preferred
  • Basic accounting or bookkeeping knowledge and experience preferred
  • Intermediate Excel, Word, and 10-Key skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
